The ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ community celebrated a rich array of music from 50 years ago and the talent of student musicians while supporting local community organizations at Skidmania ’73.

³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Cares — our annual campus-wide effort to support individuals and families in need in our community — begins today, Wednesday, Nov. 29. Collected items can be dropped off at Scribner House Carriage House from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 30.

Human Resources

Retirement plan service provider update

‌In order to prioritize the financial well-being of our faculty, staff, and retirees, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ will be transitioning to TIAA as the single service provider for the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ College retirement plans. This change is anticipated to occur on May 1, 2024, and does not require any action at this time. Announcements

Faculty panel: ‘Starting Conversations on Israel-Palestine' 

‌Five ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ professors will offer distinct scholarly perspectives that aim to deepen our understanding of the situation in Israel, Gaza, and the region from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 29, in Davis Auditorium. Panelists are Saleema Waraich (Art History); Pushkala Prasad (Management and Business, International Affairs); Gregory Spinner (Religious Studies); Sarah Friedland (MDOCS); and Nurcan Atalan-Helicke (Environmental Studies). The event, sponsored by the Office of the President, the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, and the Office of the Dean of Students, is open to ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ faculty, staff, and students only.

‌Research guide on Middle East conflict

‌A²Ô is now available on the Scribner Library website. This interdisciplinary guide is meant to serve as an introduction to the conflict and jumping off point for research into other aspects of the Middle East. For more information, contact Marta Brunner.

‌Campus COVID-19, flu vaccine clinic 

‌Health Services is partnering with Adirondack Health and Wellness to offer updated COVID-19 vaccines and flu shots from 9 a.m. to noon next Thursday, Dec 7. Registration information will be shared with the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ community soon. You will be able to receive an updated COVID-19 vaccine, your flu shot, or both at the clinic.

‌Winter dance concert ‌

‌T³ó±ð Department of Dance invites you to its Winter Concert, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2. The concert will feature work created by our faculty as well as a world premiere piece created by guest choreographer Larry Keigwin.

‌Children’s book drive ‌ ‌‌

‌T³ó±ð Reading Minds Scribner Seminar is hosting a campus-wide book drive to collect new and good-as-new used children’s books, through Friday, Dec. 1. All books will be donated to the Saratoga Children's Literacy League, which provides free books to the children of Saratoga County. Athletics News

The ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ College men’s and women’s basketball teams open Liberty League play at home this weekend. The Thoroughbreds host Clarkson University on Friday (women’s team at 5:30 p.m. men’s team at 7:30 p.m.) and St. Lawrence University on Saturday (women’s team at 2 p.m. men’s team at 4 p.m.). The women’s team is defending Liberty League champions and take a 4-1 record into the weekend. The 2-3 men’s team starts four first-year students and a sophomore. For more information, visit the .
