'Big Green Scream' highlights basketball weekend

The Big Green Scream returned to ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Saturday, Feb. 10 with the men's and women's basketball teams hosting the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Williamson Sports Center. The event featured a women's game followed by a men's game, each cheered on by hundreds of students, family members, community fans and more.

The women's team saw a sweet victory in their first overtime game of the season. They defeated RIT by 70-64, jumping into first place in the Liberty League standings. Before the contest, ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ honored its four seniors: guards Ari Fustini '18 and Veronica Moceri '18, and forwards Kelly Donnelly '18 and Caite Opfer '18.

Despite a game-high 26 points from Edvinas Rupkus '19, the men's team fell to RIT by 69-61. Before the contest, the Thoroughbreds honored its four seniors: guards Benny Louchheim '18 and Jack Morrow '18 , and forwards Martin Bedulskij '18 and Marcus Jackson '18.
