Schick Art Gallery hosts the 2025 Juried ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Student Exhibition

Schick Art Gallery presents the , this year titled "Talk to People Until You Are Forced to Hang Out," a perennial favorite showcasing the imagination and skill of ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ College art students. Each year, students submit works in a range of materials –– including prints, photographs, graphic design, painting, drawing, animation, fibers, jewelry, and ceramics –– for consideration by a juror unaffiliated with the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Art Department.

The final exhibition features a selection of works from over 250 submissions. Awards, underwritten by campus organizations, donors, and generous community businesses such as Adirondack Trust Company, Soave Faire, and Allerdice Hardware, are also allocated to certain entries by the juror. 

This year's exhibition will kick off with an opening reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, remaining on display through Tuesday, March 4, in Schick Art Gallery, on the second floor of Saisselin Art Building. The Schick Art Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday.  

All Schick Art Gallery exhibitions and events are free and open to the public.

The 2025 student exhibition juror

The 2025 student exhibition juror is Wassaic Project Director of Artistic Programming Will Hutnick. 

Hutnick received his master’s degree in fine art from Pratt Institute in 2011. He is a 2021 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellow in Painting whose work has been featured in The New York Times, New American Paintings, and Hyperallergic, among other publications. Locations of his recent exhibitions include Pamela Salisbury Gallery, the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, Hollis Taggart Gallery, and 1969 Gallery.  

Hutnick has been an artist-in-residence at Yaddo, the Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency, and the Vermont Studio Center. From 2015 to 2020, Hutnick was co-director of Ortega y Gasset Projects in Brooklyn, New York. He also has curated exhibitions at Trestle Projects, Pratt Institute, and Spring/Break Art Show.

TranslaSite won $20,000 and first place in the Kenneth A. Freirich Entrepreneurship Competition. An app to maximize credit card rewards and hockey equipment designed for women were also top contenders.
