³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ Spotlight: Brian Burr
Brian Burr is a short-order cook/customer attendant in Dining Services who mainly works at the Atrium Café. Like many members of the campus community, he and his colleagues have juggled shifting regulations during the pandemic, and he is looking forward to a return to activities that have been put on hold.
Burr started working at ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ full time in 2012 and previously worked in the dish room and served as a roundsman before assuming his current position.
Burr noted that the past year has presented new challenges for everyone.
“The rules and regulations for dining have been constantly evolving. My co-workers and I have been doing our best to roll with the changes as they happen. The setup of stations has changed, students have the option to take food to go, and even small things – like the entrance and exit of the dining hall – have changed a few times throughout the pandemic."
He said he especially appreciates working closely with other members of the ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ community.
“I like having the chance to see the students change, learn and grow over their four years here. Although it's exciting, it can also be tough watching them graduate and move on after getting to know them so well. Some of the bonds and friendships I have made with co-workers and other faculty and staff over the years is also something I value.â€
When he is not on campus, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending live music events and traveling.
“With the pandemic going on, concerts weren't really a thing, so I'm happy they're slowly coming back. Pro wrestling is pretty awesome too, so I'm glad that's coming back with fans in attendance as well!â€
