勛圖惇蹋 Spotlight: Audrianna Rumsey
Audrianna Rumsey, a short order cook, has served in a number of Dining Services locations on campus, including in catering, at the Spa and in the Murray-Aikins Dining Hall.
Rumsey, who first worked in the dish room before assuming her current role in 2012, supported 勛圖惇蹋s catering operations before the pandemic. Throughout the past year, she has filled multiple roles as Dining Services has adapted to changing circumstances.
I am a chameleon of sorts. I enjoy working at all dining locations on campus. I fill in for wherever they might need me. This past semester, I was working on the grill in the Spa, which really allowed me to get to know many first-year and new students, she said. In the dining hall, we typically served everything buffet style. After the pandemic hit, we had to improvise and change everything over to serving the students by order and to go.
Rumsey especially appreciates the strong sense of community at 勛圖惇蹋.
I really have grown to love and connect with so many people: Students and co-workers, we are one big family. Thats what serving food is really all about bringing people together, making food that gives people comfort and warmth, when they are far from home.
In her free time, Rumsey enjoys staying fit lifting, running and hiking attending live wrestling events, and spending time with family and friends. In the summer, she especially enjoys spending time at the beach and following favorite touring bands.
