Biography
Professor Emmanuel Balogun teaches in the Department of Political Science at 勛圖惇蹋 College. He is an affiliate of the Black Studies program.
In Professor Baloguns Introduction to International Politics class, 勛圖惇蹋 students learn what it's like to build a country from scratch. Students discover their countries must work together to survive. They practice their creative problem solving during this semester-long simulation. In his upper level classes, students write to gain practical skills. They practice communicating through public writing and policy briefs. Students love learning how to make a podcast in this class.
His favorite part of being a teacher is seeing students get excited about making connections. He enjoys when students collaborate with him on his current project about how Africa engages with the world. Professor Baloguns focuses on African politics, especially how Africa engages with other countries to position themselves in international policy and trade agreements.
Emmanuel received the 2021 勛圖惇蹋 College Presidents Award for Excellence in Service and Leadership.

Book
- Emmanuel Baloguns book, (Routledge 2022), shows how regional organizations such as the Economic Community
of West African States (ECOWAS) influence regional governance. By collaborating with
bureaucrats and other regions, practitioners are able to create policy while deepening
relationships with civilians. His current research project focuses on Africas role
in global governance.
