Human Nutrition and Metabolism
The Human Nutrition and Metabolism laboratory at ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ College supports student
and faculty research aimed at analyzing aspect of resting physiological variables
such as metabolism, heart rate, and oxygen consumption. ³Ô¹Ï±¬ÁÏ faculty and students
utilize the following laboratory technologies in their research:
Metabolic Cart
Used to quantify oxygen consumption and, thus, energy expenditure in subjects
Venous Occlusive Plethysmographer
Used to measure blood flow in upper and lower limbs
Analox GM7 Micro-Stat
Used to identify and analyze up to thirty different analytes in whole blood and plasma.
